The wait over! The much anticipated South Indian movie, Soorarai Pottru will start streaming from tomorrow. On 26th Oct, at 10 pm, a day after Dussehra, Amazon Prime will present the movie.
For a long time, the makers of the movie held to theatrical release. In an interview, Sudha Kongara, the director, said the movie would be a perfect fit for theatrical viewing, wrapped up with all commercial and celebrating moments. Owing to producer’s ballooning interest, they had to succumb to Amazon Prime’s luring deal. Amazon Prime thrived striking the deal with makers of the film long back; they’re waiting for the right time. On 26th Oct, a day after Dussehra, at 10 pm, the movie is gonna test its fate.
Suriya is one of the celebrated actors in South India. With his intense acting and offbeat films, he shot to fame in a flash. Films like – Ghajini, Pithamagan, Kaakha Kaakha, Varanam Aayiram, and Ayan – garnered much craze for him at the beginning of his career. Lately, he constantly failing to deliver a blockbuster which his fans craving to celebrate. Though films like 7aum Arivu, Maattrraam, 24, Theena Serndha Kottram, were turned out well; but, they’re short by one foot.
Coming to the film, it’s a biopic of G.R. Gopinath, an Indian entrepreneur and founder of Air Deccan. Based on the trailer, a major part of the film revolves around his struggle to float Air Deccan. Sudha Kongara, after her much-appalused sports drama, which simultaneously made Hindi and Tamil- as Irudhi Suttru, and Saala Khadoos– and later remade in Telugu, as Guru, directing Suirya in her 4th outing. The story is written by herself, while the screenplay she co-written by four other writers. G.V. Prakash given background score as well as music for the music, and edited by Sathish Suriya.
Surely, Suriya deserves a blaring hit, and, hopefully, Sudha Kongara does it for him.
